Shelly Leonard – Founder & President

Shelly is an experienced trial attorney for over 20 years working in the construction industry representing developers, owners, construction companies, trade contractors, and consultants. Shelly handles all aspects of construction law, from design, pre-construction contract negotiations, procurement, construction, owner occupancy, and project closeout.

Shelly has litigated complex construction defect lawsuits and construction site accidents.  Shelly also brings a vast career as a labor and employment attorney representing clients in a wide variety of complex litigation, including wage and hour collective/class actions, labor and employment matters including prevailing wages, in Federal and State courts across the county.  In addition to her litigation practice, Shelly has broad transactional experience including the representation of Fortune 500 companies, non-profit entities and small business owners.

After seeing first-hand, the creed, lack of loyalty, safety exposure, inefficiency and poor productivity in the construction industry, Shelly with her husband established 3 Core Development Group.  3 Core is an authentic company with not only the drive and vision for a more diverse and more inclusive workforce, but a company with a focused, developed, and implemented culture of safety, respect, and ethics.

3 Core tackles poor productivity through technology adoptions and innovation through new building modalities, materials and advanced automation.  We remove the barriers to confrontational contracts that customarily mean disputes and changes to the project specifications are all too common.  At 3 Core Development Group, we support a communication collaboration that keeps projects moving forward.

Shelly offers fresh leadership and management techniques, as well as exceptional contributions to the building industry and our community. Shelly oversees quality control, daily office operations, compliance, safety, claim mitigation, and accounting.

We want to build things right the first time – relationships and projects.  No one is always correct; everyone still has something to learn.

I have known builders my whole life, and I can honestly say that there is no one more passionate, talented and innovative than my husband and the impeccable trade craft professionals he has called friends over the last 30 years.

Learn avidly. Question repeatedly what you have learned. Analyze it carefully. Then put what you have learned into practice intelligently.” – Edward Cocker
